About Pitchside Physiotherapy

MEET SIMON

Simon Taylor, DPT, BExSportSc, APAM

As the founder of Pitchside Physiotherapy, Simon brings a passion for sports medicine and rehabilitation to his practice. His vision is to deliver a mobile physiotherapy service that mimics the standards of a professional sporting environment to provide elite injury management and performance conditioning to individuals and teams alike.

Simon graduated from the Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science in 2016 and immediately commenced a role as Head of Academy Strength & Conditioning/Sport Science with Central Coast Mariners FC, after having interned with the A-league squad. With a thirst for knowledge and wanting to further develop as a professional, he commenced his Doctor of Physiotherapy in 2017. During his physiotherapy studies, he had the opportunity to work at Sydney FC and Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles. He completed his thesis using GPS data of the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles NRL squad to investigate workload patterns before and after return to play following an injury. During his study, he worked as a sport science consultant for Brisbane Olympic FC. Currently, Simon is a match day physiotherapist for the NRL Referees.

Simon has always had a passion for sport – as a player, spectator and health professional. He currently plays touch football and soccer competitively, whilst also surfing, playing golf, and going to the gym in his spare time. Outside of sport, he loves travelling, going to the beach, camping, and socialising with friends and family.
